Mannar Venkalam & Traditional Handicrafts is a name synonymous with fine craftsmanship backed by centuries old tradition. An established name in undertaking metal works in temples in line with traditional architecture, we have successfully accomplished metal works in more than a 100 temples in Kerala alone. For generations, our family has been taking up metal crafts in bronze and brass as a divine vocation and we are specialists in manufacturing tradition bronze lamps, utensils and idols.

Yes, we do. We take orders for customized products made of bronze, especially for new homes and places of worship. We also take up orders for corporate gifting.

We manufacture traditional bronze lamps including nilavilakku, kavaravilakku etc. in different sizes, shapes and designs. We also manufacture bronze utensils and idols. We take orders for customized products.

We have our own production unit with expert craftsmen and modern equipment. The production unit is capable of handling orders of different quantity effectively and delivers the products on time.

Bronze utensils are traditionally being used for cooking and serving. It is said that food cooked in bronze utensils pacifies vata that causes dry skin, nervous temperament and irritability, as well as pitta. It is also said to reduce obesity and is good for eyesight and skin condition. However, it not advised to use ghee while cooking in bronze vessel.

Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin(copper to tin ratio-4:1). It is hard as well as brittle. Bronze has the property of expanding a bit when solidifying from liquid to solid state. It makes bronze more desirable for sculpture casting, as it is easy to fill the mould. That also gives perfection to bronze sculptures.

Bronze is reusable. It can be reclaimed, reconstituted and reused and this makes bronze a sustainable choice. Bronze is known for longevity and durability. It resists corrosion and tear. Further, it withstands climate changes. Bronze also has anti-microbial and self-decontaminating properties.
